Patented December 23, 1873, by John Hall, Watertown, Massachusetts, inventor. Marked Tammany Bank on side of chair. Constructed of cast-iron parts. Operation: weight of coin placed in the right hand of the effigy of Boss Tweed overbalances arm and deposits coin in his pocket. This is one of the most frequently found banks. One variant has plain circles on side of chair and omits the name Tammany Bank.
