Fig. 4 RACE COURCE BANK. Patented August 15, 1871, by John Hall, Watertown, Massachusetts, inventor, Constructed of cast-iron parts, tin horses. Operation: a spring is set by pulling cord; depositing a coin releases spring and the two horses speed around circular track. Horses start from point marked with a star. This bank is fairly rare. Usually called the horse race bank. Some advertisements in old catalogues show sulkeys instead of jockeys.
