MECHANICAL PENNY BANK EXCHANGE BULLETIN, JANUARY 1949
ROBERT S GREENFIELD P O Box # 23 Queens Village, NY
I am pleased to send you this, the first of my series of bulletins
on Mechanical Penny Banks.
On the following pages I have listed the various Bid and Ask prices
submitted to me during the pas few weeks. I accepted quotations for
those 245 Mechanical Penny Banks as listed in John D Meyer's "HANDBOOK
OF OLD MECHANICAL PENNY BANKS" only. For fuller descriptions (physical
and mechanical), I must refer you to this fine work on the subject.
The Asked prices represent banks offered by various subscribers -
all were available at presstime. However, as all items are subject to
prior sale, I suggest you get your checks for your wants )plus 10%) in
to me as quickly as possible. Bid prices, of course, represent the
amounts other subscribers are willing to pay for their particular wants.
When I receive your check for a bank, I shall immediately notify
the owner to ship same to me - holding your check. When the bank
arrives, I shall inspect it; and, if it is as represented, I shall send
it to you. All banks are, of course, sold on a money-back guarantee. . .
PROVIDED THAT I RECEIVE THE COMPLAINT WITHIN (5) DAYS.
I am anxious to receive your offers to buy or sell banks. These
listings are free of charge, so don't hesitate sending me your list.
Such listings are received up to the 15th of the month will be included
in that month's issue.
I have several subscribers who are interested in purchasing entire
collections, and would appreciate hearing from any other collectors who
would consider disposing of same.
A word of caution: When preparing a bank for shipment, be sure to
pack carefully after rendering all moveable appendages immobile. Also:
Don't forget insurance.
CORRECTIONS:-
39 Cat and Mouse Bid: $ 40 Ask: $65
160 Minstrel, Tin 20 22
I hope that this meets with your expectations and approval - am
anxious to hear from you if you have ideas on how I can improve this
service. I'm sure that the Bulletin will get better with each succeeding
issue.
Very truly yours,
ROBERT S GREENFIELD |
